What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?
The last wedding I went to was my own, oddly enough. Rob and I were married on April 29 at a historic house in Arlington, Va. Our friend Dari officiated the event, which was held on the steps of the house, and Alyssa played violin. After the ceremony, we headed inside for dinner, dancing and conversation with our family and friends.
People had warned me that the evening would go by really fast -- and they were right. It was a good thing we'd planned an "after party," so we could spend more time with our friends. About twenty of us crowded into a corner of the outside patio at Ragtime, where we chattered and feasted on loads of appetizers.
In all, it was a great day, and a wonderful memory. And we're grateful to those friends and family who were able to come out and celebrate with us.
